Hotel in the form of a sail in Barcelona

Hotel brand - the innovator in hotel industry - in the end of this year W Hotels Worldwide will celebrate West European debut with opening of new hotel W Barcelona in Barcelona, which promises to become the vanguard architectural icon towering over the Mediterranean coast in the most dynamical and stylish city of Spain. Project of Hotel W Barcelona project is developed by world famous Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, who has already developed such projects as Shiseido towers in Tokyo, buildings of corporations Cartier and Christian Dior in Paris and so forth.
Bofill’s projects show ability of the architect to find harmony with local cultures.
Hotel W Barcelona will be a 26-storeyed building in the form of sail, settled down on coast of perpendicularly landing stage thanks to what visitors can enjoy unique sea and city views from each room.
The hotel will offer 473 rooms, including 67 suites, two suites of WOW category and one Extreme WOW suites, and also Bliss Spa, restaurant with sea views,  Ignite Group night club, W bar, pool surrounded with terraces and qualitatively equipped booths and modern fitness centre Sweat with Technogym equipment. For conferences and special actions halls a total area in 2500 sq. meters, including unique hall Great Room with tremendous views of the sea here, will be opened. The hotel will be opened on October, 1st, 2009.
